Road materials testing laboratory

Description:

The road materials testing laboratory of the Department of Civil, Building and Environmental Engineering was founded in November 1931 on the initiative of Prof. Eng. Comm.
Francesco Marzolo, Dean of the Province of Padua and Director of the Royal School of Engineering of Padua, and Prof. Gr.
Uff.
Antonio Garioni, Dean of the Province of Venice.

Since then, he has been carrying out various activities in the characterization of materials used in road, railway and airport construction, performing numerous research and experiments on behalf of public agencies and private companies on the most interesting and current research topics in the road, railway and airport fields.
The above activities include: carrying out tests for third parties, conducting studies and consultancy on behalf of public and private clients, characterization and study of materials as part of the Department’s institutional teaching.

Tests, studies and research are carried out both on- and off-site.
When necessary, the Laboratory acts as part of the University of Padua’s Integrated System of Testing Laboratories, which is capable of meeting highly qualified multidisciplinary testing requests.
