The commemorative ceremony dedicated to Prof. Renato Lamberti, a founding member, President, and Honorary Member of SIIV, took place on Friday, 25 October 2024, at 3:00 p.m. at the Historical Library of the Polytechnic School of the University of Naples Federico II (Piazzale Tecchio—Naples).

It was up to Prof. Francesco Pirozzi, director of DICEA | Department of Civil, Building and Environmental Engineering, to open the day in memory of Prof. Lamberti who was also director of the Transportation Engineering Department “Luigi Tocchetti” of the University of Naples Federico II; the testimonies of Prof. Gianluca Dell’Acqua, an illustrious pupil of Prof. Lamberti; of his son, Dr. Marco Lamberti; followed by free interventions by colleagues, friends and family, allowed us to decline the extraordinary figure of Prof. Renato Lamberti: Academic and Road Designer with rare Human qualities.

During the ceremony, a copy of the most recent contribution written by Prof. Lamberti and published in the n°12/2021 of the technical magazine Le Strade (Editrice “La Fiaccola”) was distributed (consult, by clicking here), in which Prof. Lamberti outlined the profile of Prof. Luigi Tocchetti, the first Italian academic to hold the chair of Road Construction in 1929, and of whom he was a pupil.
