Laboratory of Roads Luigi Tocchetti
Description:
The Laboratory occupies about 400m2 of Building 5 in the Claudio Street Complex of the Department of Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering and adheres to the UNI EN ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
The Laboratory participates in the interlaboratory proficiency testing circuits promoted by SITEB, and articles the main activities in four sections:
- Characterization of bitumens through traditional and rheometric tests;
- Characterization of soils and aggregates;
- Characterization of asphalt mixes through volumetric and mechanical tests;
- In situ tests of subgrade bearing capacity and mechanical and functional characterization of pavements.
The Laboratory, in complete synergy with the educational needs of the DICEA, performs inspections of road materials as per the request formulated by external parties; to date, main Clients such as Autostrade Meridionali, Metropolitan City, Municipal and Provincial Administrations pertaining not only to the Campania Region, Private Companies, and freelancers are foreshadowed.
