VIARIA | Materials Testing Laboratory – Road Infrastructure Section
Description:
The Laboratory, inaugurated on Nov. 30, 2007, aims to contribute to the dissemination and promotion of academic activity, with special reference to teaching and research on materials used in road infrastructure.
In terms of teaching, the laboratory equipment supports the exercises of the Road, Railway and Airport Construction Course and the Laboratory Course for the Management and Maintenance of Road Infrastructure of the Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
Research is implemented through the development of experimental theses for the Civil Engineering Degree.
Topics to date include: investigations of photocatalytic mortars; performance characterization of unbound granular mixes (aggregates, soils, C&D recyclates) and asphalt mixes; and investigations of road surface adhesion.
